- do any other owners of the comstar 620 modem find the speaker particularly
- noisy? the ambient noise emitted from mine seems annoyingly high. my cheapo
- speakers hooked up to my old soundblaster card are completely quiet when no
- sound is being played. in contrast, the comstar speaker emits a constant
- hiss -- and it also "pops" during connects and disconnects (or turning the
- speakerphone on and off). the hiss isn't incredibly loud -- but it *is*
- annoying. any suggestions? do the jumpers affect any of this? would buying
- an amplified speaker do the trick? anyone experimented with any of this? or
- do i just have a bum speaker?
-
- i've been keeping the speaker unplugged due to the noise, which defeats the
- purpose of having a speakerphone and voicemail. any help would be greatly
- appreciated.
